Buckingham tayberries are a favourite, celebrated for their sizable, deep red berries and exceptional taste. These berries are a blend of blackberries and raspberries, resulting in a complex, sweet flavour with a hint of tartness. This makes them a great choice for eating fresh, baking, or making jams and preserves. They bloom in late spring, and the fruit is ready to pick from early to mid-summer, offering a bountiful and satisfying yield.
This robust plant, while still easy to manage, is perfect for training on wires, fences, or trellises, making it a good fit for both gardens and allotments. Supplied in a 9cm pot, Buckingham tayberries usually grow to a height of 2–3 meters when properly supported and cared for.
